Care must be taken not to break your appliances (braces). This includes not eating hard or sticky foods that can easily remove a bracket from the tooth or break the wire. Breakages can lengthen the treatment time, not to mention the inconvenience to both patient and orthodontist.
It is important to keep appointments as and when they are scheduled. When appointments are missed it lengthens your treatment time. It also means we have given up an appointment time for someone else.
Gum disease, tooth decay and permanent markings can occur on patients who do not brush and floss their teeth to a high enough standard. These same problems occur without orthodontic treatment but the risk is greater to an individual wearing braces. Remember; Keeping teeth clean and flossing will speed up your time in treatment and guarantee a ‘great’ smile.

Invisalign treatment consists of a series of nearly invisible, removable aligners that you change every two weeks for the next set of aligners. Each aligner is individually manufactured for your teeth, and your teeth only. As you replace each aligner, your teeth will move - little by little, week by week - until they have straightened to the final position prescribed by your dental provider.
